Passion; it lies in all of us. sleeping, waiting, and though unwanted, unbidden, it will stir… open its jaws and howl. It speaks to us, guides us, passion rules us all and we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love, the clarity of hatred, and the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion maybe we’d know some kind of peace but we would be hollow; Empty rooms shuttered and dank. Without passion we’d be truly dead. – Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer
What are your passions in life? Mine these days revolve around theater, politics (always), writing, and re-connecting with those parts of my life that I may have let slide while I was unemployed and bored. I’m so glad to be feeling passionate again, to be excited when I wake up in the morning for work, to not mind long hours or sore feet or grinning until my cheeks hurt! I feel reinvigorated and energetic again, after what felt like a long slog post-election. And so today, let’s talk passion. Let’s talk excitement. What makes you jump up and down? What makes your blood boil and your heart race? Anything particular going on in the Hub that I should know about? Tell all today, folks, and let’s have a comment party.
